JOHN - There is a quote, "When God shows you it's time to let someone go and you refuse to accept it, he will allow the person to hurt you to the point you have no choice but to let go" It is true that God allows the person to hurt you in order for someone to let you go?

JOEL - I suppose that is a correct statement, but because we have our agency, God almost always allows us to do anything we want to anyone we want. He rarely chooses to intervene when it comes to mortals interacting with other mortals, although we will of course be judged accordingly for what we do to others. It's up to the person being hurt to decide when it is enough and to let go of the other person.
A person who is humble and willing to receive revelation, can pray and receive inspiration from God to know when to do that.
