HARVEY - Becoming like God was the lie Satan gave to make humanity fall. Only through the Jesus of the Bible will you be saved not by denying his deity.
JOEL - Satan said:
Gen 3:5
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."
They would become as Gods in that they would know good from evil; not that they would become Gods.
God himself agreed that they had become as Gods when He said:
Verse 22
"And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:"
So Satan was not lying about that. What he did lie about is that they would not die. Satan made a truthful statement to get Adam to do something against God's command, but something that had to be done anyway so that man could come to earth and have his agency to choose to do evil or choose to do good.
When have we denied the deity of Jesus? He is our God and always has been God in some form and we can only be saved through Him.
