GREGORY - Is there a reason that Jesus blesses the CUP in the Bible’s Sacrament, but in the Book of Mormon’s He blesses the WINE, not the CUP

JOEL - Here are Bible verses that refer to that:

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom. (Matt 26)

And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.
And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.
Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God. (Mark 14)

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. (Luke 22)

If you look at all the verses involved it is pretty evident that Christ is referring to what is in the cup and not the cup itself. Blood is liquid; wine is liquid. To drink refers to the liquid contents of the cup.

Book of Mormon:

And it came to pass that when he said these words, he commanded his disciples that they should take of the wine of the cup and drink of it, and that they should also give unto the multitude that they might drink of it. (3 Nep 18)

And when they had given unto the multitude he also gave them wine to drink, and commanded them that they should give unto the multitude. (3 Nep 20)

For the Nephites it actually never says he blessed the wine although that could be assumed since he did bless the bread.
