ALEX - Colossians says Christ is in us: Colossians 1:27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. D&C seems to say the opposite: In D&C 130:3 it says "and the idea that the Father and the Son dwell in a man’s heart is an old sectarian notion, and is false."
JOEL - The Bible records that Jesus was resurrected, so we know He has a physical body and could therefore not physically dwell in any person. But the spirit of Christ or light of Christ can dwell in all of us. Here are some relevant scriptures:
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12)
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (Rom 8:9)
Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. (1 Peter 1:11)
For behold, the Spirit of Christ is given to every man, that he may know good from evil. (Moroni 7:16)
Having the spirit of Christ in us is what the Colossian verse means when it says "which is Christ in you".
