1836 - The first temple dedication in this dispensation was on March 27, 1836, when the Prophet Joseph Smith dedicated the Kirtland Temple as "a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God" (D&C 109:8). Many testified of the presence of angels.

1910 - Hugh W. Nibley, renowned educator, lingusit author is born in Portland Oregon.

1960 - The first stakes in Australia are organized in Sydney and Manchester.

1960 - The North British Mission is organized.

1963 - The Southeast Mexican Mission is organized.
